The system of interacting electrons in two dimensions has been the breeding ground for some of the most astonishing and exotic manifestations of the quantum nature of our world at a macroscopic scale. These include integer and fractional quantum Hall effects, fractional charge, Chern numbers, composite fermions, Abelian and non-Abelian anyons, chiral Luttinger liquids, composite-Fermi liquids, skyrmions, Chern-Simons field theory, topological superconductivity, topological quantum computation, Majorana modes, topological insulators, web of dualities, topological phase transitions, quantum anomalous Hall effect, graphene, moiré and van der Waals systems, and fractional quantum anomalous Hall effect.

The aim of the biennial workshop series was to provide a forum for discussing recent developments and future directions in this field.

Over three days, scientists, students, educators, policymakers, philanthropists, and science enthusiasts came together for the launch of the Lodha Theoretical Physics Institute and EPQHS-10, united by a shared belief in the transformative power of fundamental research. The programme featured talks by leading global physicists including Nobel Laureate Klaus von Klitzing, Bertrand Halperin, Mansour Shayegan, Moty Heiblum, Ashvin Vishwanath, T. Senthil, and Allan MacDonald, alongside discussions on India’s National Quantum Mission, poster presentations, and academic exchanges.

Beyond the sessions, guests experienced inspiring inaugural addresses, a visit to the new LTPI institute with expansive views of Mumbai, cultural outings across the city, and a banquet dinner that fostered meaningful conversations and collaboration.

Among the most memorable moments were the Day 2 poster presentations where students and early-career researchers presented their work and engaged in thoughtful discussions with fellow participants. These exchanges reflected the kind of intellectual environment LTPI aspires to cultivate; one where ideas are shared openly, examined rigorously, and advanced through collaboration.
